About Brothers Barkery

baby-pup4.jpgA letter from the founder...

It all started with a puppy named Bailey, a recipe and cookie cutter, and a love for cooking.

I grew up with family pets my entire life, but something changes when you grow up and get your own pet.  I think this is where my obsession with my dogs really began. Our (my husband and I) first dog was a Labrador/Weimaraner mix.  We just went to look, but of course as soon as we got there, we fell in love with this squirmy, black, ball of love and we were hooked.

We named him Bailey and he soon became a very important part of our family.  I enjoy cooking, so naturally I wanted to cook for my new best friend.  He seemed to really like the cookies I made him, so I began to make them as special treat now and then.  We bought a house and of course more room meant, that I was ready for another dog.  And the search began for a companion for Bailey.  I had done some research on Weimaraner's and fell in love with the breed.

Enter Pete.  We got Pete when he was 6 months old and full of energy.  As any mother would, I became interested and passionate about the health and nutrition of my dogs.  I read many books, attended nutrition seminars, and began really looking at the products out there for our precious pooches.  I didn't really like what I found. There were so many treats out there with ingredients I couldn't pronounce and way too many preservatives. So I began making my homemade treats more often, experimenting with new recipes, and buying the freshest, organic ingredients I could get my hands on.

I wanted to start Brothers Barkery to offer a healthier selection of treats to all the doggies out there. It is my commitment to my own dogs, as well as yours, to provide the best, homemade, organic treat that I can.  I hope your dog will enjoy eating them as much as I have enjoyed making them.  I want you to feel good, knowing it was made from the very best - for the very best!
